With over thirty years experience in academic neuropsychology and education, Dr. Scott Sokol brings a wealth of experience to his work at CtM. Just prior to joining the team, Dr. Sokol served as Director of Psychological Assessment and Professor of Psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Morningside/West and Icahn School of Medicine. Trained as a research scientist and clinician, Dr. Sokol has founded a number of professional training programs including in communication sciences and disorders and special education. He received his BA Summa cum laude from Brandeis University and MA & PhD degrees from Johns Hopkins University. He is board certified in pediatric neuropsychology and a recognized expert in dyscalculia, dyslexia and cognitive neuropsychology. Dr. Sokol has been the recipient of many awards including a Fulbright Young Scientist Award and a Young Psychologist Award from the American Psychological Association, and is an elected Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. He is also a professional musician and loves to cook for family and friends.
